Hi QHat and QUDA Ball Attendees,

I hope you are all very excited about the QUDA Ball and have been thinking about, shopping for, trying out, that awesome outfit!  QUDA Ball promises to be a night of fun, fine food, great company and dancing of course!

QUDA Ball Best Dressed Table, voted on the night by QUDA Ball panel.
QUDA Ball Best Dressed Lady, voted on the night by Gents (in the event of a tie a walk off will be the decider)
QUDA Ball Best Dressed Gent, voted on the night by ladies (in the event of a tie a walk off will be the decider)

Unfortunately we have had to pull the drinks package due to smaller than expected tournament number and Ball attendance to minimize loss.  If by some remarkable last minute registration boom and numbers for the Ball and Tournament start reach 100 attendance, then this will have an effect on the package at the Ball and drinks may be reinstated.  So until that glorious moment, a cash bar will be available for all your thirsty needs.  So if you know someone that is on the fence about the Tourney and the Ball, it'll be in your best interested to get them to attend ASAP

We would like to apologize for this last minute change and ask for your understanding with this difficult decision.

QHAT Update 3!


Registrations are now up over the 50 player mark and with only a couple of weeks until the tournament, use this opportunity to get yourself signed up NOW! Annerely FC have confirmed that they will allow us to use their clubhouse this year which is also good news in that there will be more facilities, and undercover leisure areas. When registering, please fill in the question regarding QBall attendance as it assists us greatly with budgeting and catering for the event. If you or a partner wish to only go to the Ball, you can also sign up to the separate division on the tournament link through AFDA.

We have had some enquiries regarding one day/tournament costs without the ball. The answer is as follows:

Full tournament and Ball = $100
1 day and Ball = $100 (you get the Jersey, food for a day, and the Ball)
2 day without Ball = $70
1 day without Ball = $70
Ball only = $70

We have arranged this so there are some options and we understand that not everyone can make it for the entire weekend. However, it has been planned as a 2 day tournament with a Ball and as such it is difficult to further reduce the price or offer extra opt-outs.


You can either pay for the tournament in cash on the day, or you can directly transfer your player fee to the QUDA Events account. The details are:

Above is the 2012 flyer with more details regarding the Queensland Hat tournament! The cost for the weekend has been confirmed as $100 per player, but this includes a sit-down meal at the QUDA ball as well as jersey, food, ultimate.

We have 40 players already signed up and registration has only been available for 1 week. Please sign up via the AFDA website as soon as possible to guarantee your spot at this fun tournament!

Qhat II

Dear Queensland Frisbee players,

After the success of last years inaugural Queensland Hat tournament, I am pleased to announce we will have a second installment on the weekend of the 24th and 25th of November. Last year's event was hot, fun,
 social, had great food, and also great ultimate. This year's tournament will be no different and... there will also be the QUDA ball on the Saturday night that doubles as the tournament party! We will be looking at the possibility of billeting out of towners to entice folk to make the trip to Brisbane.

Could those who have contacts with Gympie, Townsville, Cairns, Gold Coast and WUFL frisbee please circulate this email.

QHat Tomorrow!

Hey you mad Q-Hatters

2. Read the rest of this email and consult the blog if you have any questions before emailing me (Not cause Im rude and I dont want emails - I just will not be able to respond to them by tomorrow, sorry)

Some more things you need to know for tomorrow:


Time of the days play
Saturday
We are playing the first games at 1pm
Teams are announced at 12.30pm
So please get to the fields at 12pm
We will play through til 7.20pm and dinner is provided

Sunday
We begin again at 8am and the final will be show- cased over lunch so we should wrap up around 1-1.30pm

If you are playing one day (more accurately just the Saturday)
You will get a jersey (obviously that's why you pay the fees) but depending on numbers we might have a case where it would be great to get your jersey back at the end of the days play (to allow your replacement to play in the same colour as their team mates), in exchange for a reserved other colour. At this stage we will have plenty of left over tops so don't stress out. I just want to ensure that people playing just the Sunday get the same colour top to play in as the rest of their team. So just a heads up. It probably wont come to that but just so you know. Thanks for understanding.

Everyone:
> Please bring the usual ultimate tournament gear, ie:
 Waterbottle(s), hat, sunscreen (we will also provide teams a bottle), mess kit including plate, bowl, cutlery and cup, a disc (dont bring 5 or something silly like that - they will get lost), any extra snacks that you know/think you might need to keep yourself running and energised.

Billets
Does any one have room to billet some of our inter-city friends? Please email me and let me know. We need to find room for at least 3 ppl at this stage.
(if you are one of these ppl looking to be billeted can you please let me know if you've found a place to stay since signing up)

Party

"But won't I be smelly from playing" you ask???
No!
The club house showers will be open just for you smelly fellows to shower off and get changed into nicer clothing (BUT I encourage you to wear your QHat Jersey out)

Please everyone continue to get your payment in. We can only go out and buy food for you etc with money. Bank transfer:

Again the costs are: $70 for both days and $45 for a single day.

One last thing
For all you regular Brisbane Ultimate players (and everyone else), We are playing at the MENS field at Annerley Soccer Club. This is at Ekibin Park. This isn't the usual field with the bridge across the drain. Its the one across the road from the bowls club - FYI.
